DeShon L. Brown was publicly named a 2026 HDT Truck Fleet Innovator Finalist by Heavy Duty Trucking.
The recognition highlights Brown’s broader transportation leadership across motor carrier operations, regulatory strategy, fleet performance, governance, operational risk, driver coaching, technology, public policy, industry instruction, and innovation.
Heavy Duty Trucking identified Brown as Head of Safety and Compliance for Spur Freight Services and highlighted his focus on helping fleets look beyond CSA scores to recognize warning signs before violations, crashes, or other business consequences.
The announcement also connected his approach to improved vehicle maintenance performance, stronger driver coaching, and closer working relationships among drivers, dispatchers, and managers.
The recognition reflects a body of work that extends beyond one functional area. Brown’s experience spans the driver seat, motor carrier operations, regulatory compliance, fleet performance, governance, operational risk, technology, public policy, industry instruction, innovation, and executive accountability.
His broader transportation leadership includes public service as an Austin Transportation Commissioner, membership on the Texas Trucking Association Board of Directors, and industry instruction as a North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI) Instructor, with NATMI programs accredited through the University of Denver Transportation & Supply Chain Institute.
